Irish nationalist and member of Parliament. Leader of the Young Ireland movement. Led an almost bloodless uprising against the police in Ballingary County and was tried successfully for treason. Martin Cash was transported to New South Wales in 1828. After serving his sentence he migrated to Van Diemen's Land and here committed a further crime for which he was sentenced to seven years transportation.
